Ricky Ponting (Captain)
Without wishing to overstate it, captaincy is his weak suit. When England got on top in 2005, he was found wanting in that department.

Matthew Hayden
Andrew Flintoff got him out four times last year, so it will be interesting to see how the tussle between those two pans out.

Justin Langer
He has enormous powers of concentration and absolutely loves scoring runs for Australia.

Damien Martyn
His patience can wander a bit and he has a bit of a weakness outside off stump. But when in form he is a wonderful player to watch.

Mike Hussey
The way England's bowlers looked after Australia's left-handers last time will give them great hope they can find a way past Hussey as well.

Shane Watson
I personally don't think he's in Freddie Flintoff's class, at least with the ball.

Adam Gilchrist
It really did affect the Australians as a whole that Gilchrist was kept so quiet last year and that Andrew Flintoff could get him out at will from round the wicket.

Shane Warne
He may not have the same raw materials as in the past, but thrives on his canniness.

Brett Lee
So far, he has been more of a handful on home soil than elsewhere, and he is a clear danger man.

Glenn McGrath
They will desperately want to have him in the side, but there is some concern from Australia's point of view that he won't be up to the task.

Shaun Tait
This is where England have got to look to exploit Australia, because they don't have that sort of high quality back-up in seam-bowling they used to.

Stuart Clark
It remains to be seen whether he's going to have the level of penetration on flat wickets that McGrath has enjoyed.

Mitchell Johnson
That difference in angle created by a left-armer can cause problems to Test match batsmen who don't see a lot of that sort of bowling.
