Plunkett is more of a seam bowler than his rivals for a spot in the Test side, James Anderson and Sajid Mahmood.
It is hard for a bowler to get over a side strain as he has, so all eyes will be on his early performances.
As well as returning to fitness he has to get back his confidence in bowling at full pace.
Once he does that, who know what he could achieve?
