Strauss has now made nine Test centuries for England
|
England opener Andrew Strauss has overtaken partner Marcus Trescothick in the new Test batting rankings.
Strauss's century against Pakistan at Lord's has lifted him to 12th place in the LG ICC list, with Trescothick slipping two places to 13th.
But Kevin Pietersen remains England's highest-ranked batsman at 10th, despite dropping one place below Brian Lara.
Pakistan now have two players in the top five with Inzamam-ul-Haq third and Mohammad Yousuf in fifth place.
Yousuf has moved up two places following his 202 in the first innings at Lord's.
And his total of 828 ranking points puts him just four behind fourth-placed Jacques Kallis, who will not have the chance to defend his position in South Africa's forthcoming series against Sri Lanka because of injury.
There has been no significant movement in the bowling rankings with the top 20 remaining unchanged.
England's Matthew Hoggard remains fifth despite taking five wickets against Pakistan, one place ahead of team-mate Andrew Flintoff.
