Pietersen climbs into Test top 20

Pietersen's innings also took him past 1,000 runs in Tests

England's Kevin Pietersen has moved into the top 20 of the Test batting rankings following his century against Sri Lanka in the Lord's Test.

Pietersen's innings of 158 has lifted him nine places to 17th in the LG ICC list, and he is also seventh in the latest one-day rankings.

Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardene has moved up three places to 13th after his 119 in their second innings.

Matthew Hoggard and Andrew Flintoff are fifth and sixth among the bowlers.
