Vaughan is eager for Trescothick to return to the England team

England skipper Michael Vaughan has admitted he may have to give up one-day cricket to prolong his Test career.
Vaughan is currently out of action after having knee surgery and does not know yet when he will be back playing.
He told BBC Radio Five Live he loved playing both forms of the game but his hand may be forced.
"In the future if a stage comes whereby missing out on one form of the game will prolong my cricket for a few years then that decision will be made."
He has also called for an end to the speculation surrounding Marcus Trescothick's premature return from the Indian tour.
Trescothick left the trip in February with the England camp citing personal reasons but the Somerset opener this week said he had been hit by a virus.
"Marcus left the tour, had a few problems and an illness, now let's look forward," Vaughan said.
"He has picked himself up and it will be great to have him back in the team."
The speculation about Trescothick led to former England bowler Dominic Cork calling on the England management to reveal the full reasons behind his withdrawal.
But Vaughan would not be drawn on the issue and instead expressed his hope that Trescothick would return for the first Test against Sri Lanka on 11 May.
"He is a tremendous player for England and he was missed in India because of the way he plays in the sub-continent," Vaughan added.
"Hopefully he will have a good start for Somerset and he will be back in the team against Sri Lanka.
"Whatever has been said and whatever happened we should look forward to Marcus getting back into the England team doing what he does best, scoring runs, taking first-slip catches and having a huge influence on the team away from the game."
Vaughan admits that the length of time spent on tour can have an affect on the players.
"Every individual copes in a different way," Vaughan added. "We are playing a lot of cricket and we are away from home a lot.
"But that's your job and you have to be able to do it.
"Some enjoy having their families there, some players like being on their own for a period.
"It's just a case of managing that to make sure we give them the best opportunity to perform in all conditions."
Vaughan is currently out of action as he recovers from knee surgery and says he does not know when he will be back in action.
"I'm not even going to suggest playing at the minute," he said. "I have to just take one day at a time and make sure I do my rehabilitation properly.
"It is a bit tedious to spend so many hours in the gym but I realise I have to do it to make sure I give myself the best opportunity to come back strong."
