Sri Lanka A leg-spinner Malinga Bandara ran through the England A lower order to restrict them to a slim first innings lead in Colombo.

And by the half-way point in the four-day game, the hosts had dashed out in front by 199 runs, reaching 211-5.

Shantha Kalavitigoda hit a patient 83 as the tourists experimented with eight bowlers, Ian Bell taking two wickets.

The tourists, 118-5 overnight were all out for 157, Bandara taking all five day two wickets for figures of 8-49.

Owais Shah completed his third successive half-century but was the last man out in the 58th over.
