BBC Sport runs the rule over the England side that completed an unprecedented 4-0 Test series whitewash of West Indies.
Michael Vaughan:
Still short of his world-beating form of two years ago but hit two tons at Lord's and a crucial 33 in the third Test comeback. 7/10
Marcus Trescothick:
Was generally subdued during the series but came good when needed with the second of his tons at Edgbaston setting up victory. 7/10
Andrew Strauss:
Still yet to score a century away from Lord's but he showed a new side with a gritty 90 to help rescue England at Old Trafford. 8/10
Rob Key:
Despite his 221 at Lord's, Mark Butcher's replacement failed to quiet the critics until his match-winning 93 in the third Test. 8/10
Graham Thorpe:
England's sole remaining veteran regularly contributed in tough situations, none more so than when he rescued the third Test with 114. 9/10
Ian Bell:
The third batting replacement of the summer hit a stylish 70 on debut in the final Test and provided a spark with his fielding too. 7/10.
Andrew Flintoff:
Topped bowling and batting averages among regular players, moving from entertainer to match-winner, especially at Old Trafford. 10/10
Geraint Jones:
Aggressive batting went off the boil and he still needs to sharpen up behind the stumps, although mistakes did not prove costly. 6/10
Ashley Giles:
England's leading wicket-taker made the most of conditions and exploited the weaknesses of West Indies' cavalier left-handers. 9/10
Matthew Hoggard:
Happy to take the support role behind the strike men but gained his own rewards when swing was on offer with 16 wickets. 8/10
Steve Harmison:
Sub-par for much of the series he bounced back with eight wickets in a day at The Oval as batsmen struggled against extra bounce. 7/10
James Anderson:
Only rediscovered his confidence at The Oval after missing the first Test and then struggling for rhythm and consistency. 6/10
Simon Jones:
Single outing at Lord's showed the Welshman as still rusty after two months out of action with a foot problem. 6/10
