Surrey paceman Alex Tudor says he feels in fine form and is raring to resume his Test career when England take on Sri Lanka at Lord's on Thursday.

Tudor earned his call-up to the England squad after a successful start to the season, taking 15 wickets in three championship matches.

I have not let anyone down when I've played for England
Alex Tudor

The 24-year-old, who played the last of his five Tests against Australia last summer, has been plagued by injury throughout his career, but hopes he has put his fitness troubles behind him.

"Playing for England is something that I've wanted as soon as I came back from Australia - I'm over the moon," he told BBC Sport Online.

"I have had a taste of Test cricket and I have not let anyone down when I've played for England.

"It has been a great start for me in the championship and I'm feeling in great shape at the moment.

"Being a bowler you are always going to pick up niggles and the injuries I've had have been serious ones. It's not like it has been a broken finger nail or anything.

"Hopefully I can go through the season without breaking down. I've got a lot to thank the Academy for. It has been very beneficial.

Dominic Cork
Cork has enjoyed success at Lord's
"Recent history will tell you that the seamers have got the wickets at Lord's, but if I get the opportunity I will hopefully put the ball in the right areas and take wickets."

Tudor faces competition from Dominic Cork for a place in the side.

Cork put himself back in contention with 23 wickets and 173 runs as Derbyshire won their first three Championship matches to go top of the second division.

The Debyshire captain's swing bowling is seen to be ideally suited to the Lord's conditions, where he took 7-43 on debut against the West Indies in 1995.

"I do enjoy bowling at Lord's," Cork told BBC Radio. "I've had some good performances there in the past so maybe that pushed in my favour.

"When you're in a side that's winning it helps," he said.

"The team performance has been magnificent. It has inspired me and hopefully it will keep doing so."
