Rain spoils SA tour game
Tour match, Northampton: South Africa 229-6; Northamptonshire 45-1 (15 overs)
No result, rain.

M Boucher
Mark Boucher hit four boundaries in his innings

Mark Boucher (69) and Shaun Pollock (53) used their experience to guide the tourists to a decent score at Wantage Road before rain prevented a result.

For the county side, Mike Cawdron and Damian Wright each took two wickets and neither cost more than four runs an over.

Herschelle Gibbs and Jacques Kallis were both undone by the new ball while captain Graeme Smith (24) got a start but was unable to go on.

In the Northamptonshire reply, Mark Powell and Mike Hussey were settling into an interesting partnership for the second wicket before the weather intervened.

Northamptonshire: M E K Hussey (Capt), M J Powell, P A Jaques, J W Cook, D J G Sales, G P Swann, T M B Bailey (Wkt), D G Wright, R S G Anderson, M J Cawdron, J F Brown.

South Africa: G C Smith (Capt), H H Gibbs, J H Kallis, M van Jaarsveld, M N van Wyk, M V Boucher (Wkt), S M Pollock, N Boje A C Dawson, A J Hall, M Ntini.
