Worcestershire reveal James Cameron injury fear

Cameron played under-19 Test cricket for Zimbabwe

Worcestershire all-rounder James Cameron may not bowl again this season because of a back injury.

The 25-year-old scored 55 during Sunday's FL t20 win against Yorkshire at New Road, but the problem prevented him from bowling.

Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: "It does affect him sometimes when he is batting and fielding, and he may not be able to bowl again this season.

"He will go away this winter and make sure he back is back to full strength."

He added: "It is important for Jimmy to bowl as it is another string to his bow, in four-day and one-day cricket."

Rhodes also hopes the Zimbabwean can translate his Twenty20 form into improved displays in the County Championship.

"The frustration for James is that he has not got runs opening the batting in the four-day game this season like he did last year," said Rhodes.

"But I am very pleased with him, he is making progress and we want him to push his way back into the four-day side."

Worcestershire are back in Twenty20 action on Wednesday when they face Northants at Milton Keynes.

There will be full commentary on the whole game on BBC Hereford and Worcester on 738am and online at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester
