Worcestershire have signed West Indies batsman Chris Gayle for the rest of the season after Zander de Bruyn was called up for the South Africa A team.
Gayle will make his debut in a one-day game against Lancashire on 24 August.
"Chris will be available for the final five Totesport League games and four Championship matches," said the club.
One of a group of leading players currently in pay dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board, Gayle averages 39.38 in 52 Tests with seven centuries.
He is also a useful off-spinner, with 100 one-day international wickets.
