Warwickshire have signed spinner Daniel Vettori for the 2006 season, subject to approval from New Zealand Cricket.
The left-armer has taken 208 wickets in 65 Tests and 153 in 160 one-day international matches.
"He gives our bowling unit the variation that is needed to compete and win matches in all forms of the game," said head coach Mark Greatbatch.
"A full season is something I've wanted to do for a while." said Vettori, who is currently in South Africa.
"I have been flattered by the interest in me over the past couple of months, but the prospect of working with Mark Greatbatch was ultimately the biggest pull."
Vettori, 26, became the youngest player to represent New Zealand in Tests when he made his debut n 1997.
And he recently won selection for the World XI in the ICC Super Series in Australia.
His previous county experience came while playing part of the 2003 season for Nottinghamshire.
He is scheduled to arrive at Edgbaston on 10 May, at the end of New Zealand's Test series in South Africa.
