Luke Wright will get better, says Sussex coach Robinson

Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson says there is more to come from all-rounder Luke Wright as he continues his rehabilitation following a knee injury.

The 26-year-old hit an unbeaten 81 against Essex in the FL t20 on Wednesday night, as well as returning getting a wicket in his one over.

Robinson told BBC Sussex: "He's dangerous, but he's not fully fit yet.

"He's getting there and we'll have to manage him carefully. He's not bowling as many overs as he would normally."

Robinson added: "But he's had some time in the middle with the bat. You could tell Luke was on a mission against Essex by how he approached it.

"You're always looking to get players back into form and get scores under their belt. Chris Nash got us off to a quick start and then Luke took over, which was brilliant."

Sussex have won all three of their opening group matches, but Robinson is not getting carried away with their start.

"We've played arguably one of the stronger teams on paper in the competition, in Essex, and beaten them twice," he said.

"But you've got to make sure your build-up and mentality is right and that you perform in each game. Every team has players that can really hurt you."
