Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson believes there is more to come from his side this season.

The county have drawn two and lost one of their opening four games of the county championship campaign.

"As a bowling attack we've come across some flat wickets and haven't been very potent," Robinson told a BBC Sussex cricket forum.

"We've got wickets in us but we haven't been consistent. We are a work in progress as a team, that is for sure."

He added: "We haven't caught as well as we like behind the wicket, which makes it difficult.

"This team have got character, drive and fight. But we seem to only play well when we make it hard for ourselves."

Meanwhile chief executive Dave Brooks told the forum he is pleased with the progress of the £8 million development of the PROBIZ County Ground in Hove.

"In mid-April I was cautious over the new ground because we wanted to see how it all worked," Brooks said.

"Now when I stand at the Cromwell Road End of the ground and look down to the Sea End, I do feel very proud of what we have achieved.

"But there are lots of bits and pieces we want to do to make it better."
