Three players released by Division Two champions Sussex

Sussex

Division Two champions Sussex have offloaded three of their promotion-winning squad as they prepare to return to Division One.

Ragheb Aga, Chad Keegan and Michael Thornely have all been told that they have not been offered new contracts.

"I'd like to thank Ragheb, Chad and Michael on all they have given us during their time at Sussex," said cricket manager Mark Robinson.

"All three have always given 100% and been fine ambassadors for the club."

Thornely, 22, who progressed through the ranks at Hove before making his first-class debut for Sussex in 2007, made 12 County Championship appearances this season, hitting a top score of 89 in last week's title-sealing win over Northants.

Aga, 26, who played international cricket for Kenya, made his debut against Nottinghamshire in the final Pro40 match of the 2007 season but has featured just once in Championship cricket this season.

South African-born former Middlesex seamer Keegan, 31, who initially joined Sussex on trial last summer, has featured only in one-day cricket this season.
