Anyon bolsters a Sussex seam attack missing the retired Jason Lewry
Sussex have completed the signing of bowler James Anyon on a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old right-arm seamer was released by Warwickshire at the end of last season, having spent much of the year regaining full fitness.
He took 26 Championship wickets in only seven matches during 2008 before sustaining a freak foot injury.
Anyon said: "I'm very excited about the move to Hove. Tim Ambrose and Stefan Piolet were both at Sussex and had nothing but good things to say."
Now fit again, Anyon is now keen to regain the form that saw him capture a career-best 6-82 in 2008.
"I just want to settle down, bowl lots of overs and get back to the form I showed two or three years ago," he said. "It is time to start again."
Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson said: "James has always performed very well against us, which is always a factor when you look to sign a new player.
"He's at a great age and is hungry and looking for a fresh start."
