Sussex have released Akram midway through his contract

Sussex have allowed former Pakistan Test bowler Mohammad Akram to leave midway through his two-year contract.
Akram had signed for the 2004 and 2005 seasons, but his personal situation has prompted an early departure.
In his one season with the 2003 County Champions, Akram took 43 wickets at an average of 33.74.
But Sussex announced "with much regret" they have agreed to part company with the paceman, who played in nine Tests and 23 one-dayers for Pakistan.
"Though Mohammad enjoyed his time at Sussex and performed well, he cited
family reasons for his desire to continue his cricketing career elsewhere,"
said a statement from Sussex.
"The club would like to thank Mohammad for all his efforts and wish him well
for the future."
