Paceman James Ormond has signed a deal to play on with Surrey next season.
The 29-year-old has taken 196 wickets for the county at 32.38 since joining from Leicestershire four years ago.
But Ormond - who featured in two Tests for England in 2001 - was hit by injury last season and took part in only three Championship games for the Brown Caps.
"I am pleased to have secured Jimmy's services for a further season as his ability with the ball is unquestioned," coach Alan Butcher said.
"He wants to reclaim his position as leader of our attack and I have no doubt that he will be a force to be reckoned with in 2007."
