Surrey batsman Mark Ramprakash has received three points under the England and Wales Cricket Board's new disciplinary code.
The former England batsman was penalised after losing his cool during Surrey's Frizzell County Championship Division One match against his former county Middlesex on 26 July.
Ramprakash was reported by umpires Mark Benson and Peter Hartley for a Level Two breach of the code.
That involves using "language or gesture that is obscene, or of a serious insulting nature, to another player, umpire, referee, team official or spectator".
The penalty points will remain on Ramprakash's record for 12 months.
He has three points in total and if he accumulates nine or more in any 12-month period he will automatically be suspended.
