Oval groundsman quits
Surrey's head groundsman Paul Brind has left his job because of ill health.

He had been in charge since succeeding his father Harry, now an England and Wales Cricket Board pitches consultant, as Ground Manager in 1994.

"I feel that now is the right time to take the opportunity of changing my career path and moving on to other things," said Brind, who was twice voted Groundsman of the Year.

He has been replaced by Bill Gordon with immediate effect.
