Ramprakash fronts run feast

Mark Ramprakash fired a double ton to head a list of four century-makers for Surrey on day two.

Ramprakash extended his overnight score of 92 to 205 - a knock that included 30 fours and three sixes - to propel the reigning champions to a huge total.

Joining him in triple figures were skipper Adam Hollioake (121 not out), keeper Jonathan Batty (123) and number 10 Martin Bicknell, whose unbeaten 103 was his second first-class ton.

After resuming play on 176-4, Surrey piled on the runs with a 165-run stand between Hollioake and Ramprakash highlighting a number of meaningful partnerships.

After making 206 in their first innings, the students started their second dig with a 458-run deficit.

Loughborough openers James Adams and Rob White, the discarded Northants batsman, survived six overs before stumps.
