Mike Soper has resigned as chairman of reigning county champions Surrey.
Soper's years at Surrey have been highly successful

He had held the post since 1995, a period which has seen the club become the dominant force in county cricket by winning seven trophies.
Former treasurer David Stewart has been elected as his successor.
"Mike has brought great leadership and commitment to this job - and he will be a hard act to follow," Stewart commented.
Soper was unsuccessful in an attempt to become chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board last year, but was subsequently appointed as David Morgan's deputy.
He will retain links with The Oval, however, as the club have made him an honorary vice-president.
"It has been a wonderful eight years - full of real challenges. I trust that much of my experience will help me in my new position at the ECB," he said.
"I am delighted that I will continue to be involved at Surrey, and want to thank the Committee, Staff, members and everyone at the Club who have supported me
As well as his new role as ECB vice-chairman, Soper also heads the First Class Forum.
