Former Somerset captain Justin Langer says he would jump at the chance to take on a role at the county but has had no contact from anyone at the club.
Langer, 39, retired from playing after leading Somerset in the Twenty20 Champions League competition in India.
"[Coach] Andy Hurry and [chief executive] Richard Gould know I want to continue in Somerset but I'm waiting to hear," Langer told BBC Radio Bristol.
"If an invitation comes I'll put both hands up and come and help out."
Last season Somerset finished runners-up in the Twenty20 Cup, came third in the County Championship Division One and second in the Pro 40 competition.
"I'm very, very proud of Somerset and proud of what we've achieved over the last few years," said Langer.
But he admitted the win over Deccan Chargers in India, and ensuing celebration, was a highlight.
"That night we sang Blackbird [by the Wurzels] in the changing room and it was one of the most memorable moments of my time at Somerset.
"I think back over the whole summer and we had some incredible team songs and that's what I loved most about playing the game," he added.
The former Australia opener joined Somerset in 2006 as captain and was a key factor in helping them improve from County Championship Division Two also-rans to vying for the top-flight title in the past two years.
"If I'm completely honest I came there the first year for quite selfish reasons to get some batting practice," said Langer.
"It worked perfectly for me in the lead up to the Ashes [in 2007].
"But I formed a very close bond with [coach] Andy Hurry from the moment we met and that foundation was what drew me back to Somerset in the first instance.
"Some of the friendships and memories on and off the field has made Somerset a very really special place for me and my family and I had a wonderful time."
