Somerset director of cricket Brian Rose says his team can only afford to lose two more games in the Twenty20 Cup.
"There's nine games to go," said Rose, after Wednesday night's defeat to Northants. "You've got to win up to seven to stand a chance.
"We've got to hit a series of wins otherwise we don't qualify for finals day," Rose told BBC Radio Bristol. "It's as simple as that."
Somerset's next game is at Cardiff on Friday night against Glamorgan.
Rose hopes to have Ben Phillips available for Friday's game against Glamorgan, after he suffered a nasty head injury in training.
"The gate in the bowling machine in the indoor school fell on his head," said Rose. "He may be OK for the Glamorgan game as I think 48 hours after you have done it he might be OK."
