Rohan Gavaskar guided India A to victory with a superb century as the two captains contrived a positive finish following Thursday's wash-out.
Gavaskar, the son of Indian Test legend Sunil, struck four sixes and 17 fours in his unbeaten 139 - the 13th first-class hundred of his career
Notts added 74 for the loss of two wickets at the start of play, with former England batsman Usman Afzaal reaching 161 not out before captain Paul Franks made the declaration.
The tourists soon lost Wasim Jaffer, bowled for a duck by Charlie Shreck, and Shiv Das followed when he was caught off Andy Harris for 18.
But Gavaskar and Satyajit Parab responded with a bold counter-attack, putting on 148 for the third wicket before Parab was bowled by Daniel Vettori for 90.
It was the New Zealand Test spinner's sole success and his 14 overs cost him 104 as Gavaskar continued the onslaught, supported by 18-year-old Ambati Rayudu.
They shared an unbroken stand of 172 with Rayudu hitting the winning runs to finish on 71 not out.
