Tagg lands Northants post
I think I'm a winner by nature and that's the sort of approach I hope to bring to the club
Mark Tagg
Northamptonshire have named Mark Tagg as their new chief executive.

Tagg, who was formerly Director of Finance at Worcestershire, replaces Steve Coverdale and will begin his new job on 5 April.

His appointment comes at a time when the club is under investigation by auditors and the police.

A statement said "a number of financial irregularities" had been discovered in the club's accounts. One person has so far been arrested.

Tagg, meanwhile, said he was looking forward to taking up his new role.

He is taking over a club which will be playing in Division One of the Championship and National League following last summer's double promotion.

"Kepler Wessels obviously did an excellent team building job on the field last summer," said Tagg.

"I want to try and do the same sort of thing off the field, to give the club the best backroom team possible."

Coverdale was the longest-serving chief executive on the county circuit, but left thee club at the end of last month after 19 years.
