Middlesex say they have received a good response to their advertisement for a 1st XI coach to work alongside new captain Ed Smith at Lord's.
Chief executive Vinny Codrington said: "We have had some good CVs in already."
Former head coach John Emburey will now be a general director of cricket and will focus on all cricket matters.
The new 1st XI coach will report to Emburey and will attempt to get Middlesex back up to Division One of the County Championship.
Applicants, who have until 6 January to apply, will be shortlisted and interviewed in the middle of that month.
