Boon demands bowling improvement

Leicestershire

Leicestershire head coach Tim Boon says his side must improve their bowling if they are to progress beyond the group stages of this season's Twenty20 Cup.

The Foxes suffered a seven-wicket defeat by Lancashire on Sunday and Boon told BBC Radio Leicester the bowling display was not good enough.

"Our bowlers have got to hit their straps and bowl right from ball one and I don't think we did that," Boon said.

"There were too many four balls and too many gimmes."

Leicestershire are bottom of the North Division after four games but are only two points off second spot.

Lancashire are the runaway leaders, having won all their four games but just two points separate the other five sides.

The Foxes face Nottinghamshire at Grace Road on Wednesday.
