Jones' last appearance for England came at Trent Bridge in 2005
Hampshire have completed the signing of England fast bowler Simon Jones, reports BBC Radio Solent.
The 30-year-old has penned a three-year deal at the Rose Bowl after being released by Worcestershire.
It is understood Jones' contract with Hampshire includes appearance and fitness-related clauses, and his deal will officially begin on 1 November.
The 2005 Ashes winner missed the whole of this season because of injury, undergoing knee surgery in April.
Hampshire saw off competition from Jones' former county Glamorgan for his signature.
Last week, Glamorgan chairman Paul Russell made his case for why Jones should return to his native Wales.
"Simon was developed by Glamorgan cricket, he's a proud Welshman and was a key member of the England side who won the 2005 Ashes series," said Russell.
"To me it seems a natural course of events that he should conclude his career at Glamorgan."
Jones has been dogged by a knee injury since helping inspire England to their Ashes win over Australia in 2005.
He left Glamorgan for Worcestershire two years ago, after also holding talks with Hampshire, but was released after needing more surgery.
The Welshman took 42 wickets at an average of 18.02 to help Worcestershire win promotion to County Championship Division One in 2008 and was named in England's preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy.
However, injury ended his season prematurely and Jones' 2009 campaign never got started as he underwent an operation to have fluid drained from his injured knee in April.
