Hampshire have signed Australia A batsman Dominic Thornely as one of their overseas players for next season.
The 27-year-old, who also bowls medium-pace, joins fellow Aussie Shane Warne at the Rose Bowl.
"I feel a county season will develop my game further under the captaincy of Shane and the Hampshire support staff," the New South Wales right-hander said.
"The club were very successful last season, and I hope to contribute to that success with both bat and ball."
Thornely has been in impressive form in Australian first-class cricket this season, averaging more than 65.
He scored 154 runs in two Championship matches for Surrey last year, including a half century at the Rose Bowl.
Hants chairman Rod Bransgrove, who saw three other Australians - Michael Clarke, Matthew Hayden and Shane Watson - turn down moves, believes the new signing will fit in well.
"His positive all-round approach to the game is consistent with the way we play, and I am confident he will quickly become a firm favourite with our supporters," he said.
