Saxelby represented England as an Under 19 international

Gloucestershire bowler Ian Saxelby has been ruled out for the rest of this season because of injury. The 21-year-old will have a second operation on his troublesome shoulder problem later this month. He told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "The stiffness is wearing off daily. It is a question of getting that out and then going back until the knife. "The first operation showed up a few niggly areas I need to get fixed. I'll be raring to go by January 2011." He joined Gloucestershire in 2008 and took 20 wickets in nine first class matches for the county last summer. "My main goal is to try and play some cricket abroad after Christmas," added Saxelby. "It's been hugely frustrating after doing all the winter work, being selected on the England Performance Programme, and then having all that laid off now. "I'm trying to stay positive with where I'm going and look forward to 2011."
