Gloucs demolish Bucks
C&G Trophy 3rd round, Wing: Gloucestershire 401-7 beat Buckinghamshire 77 by 324 runs

Gloucestershire hit the fifth-highest score in 50-over cricket history before skittling Buckinghamshire out cheaply at Ascott Park.

Only eight teams have ever scored more than 400 in limited overs cricket, including 60-over games.

And it eclipsed Gloucestershire's best previous mark by exactly 50 runs.

Tim Hancock blasted 135 off 118 balls, with nine fours and three sixes to his name.

He received excellent support from Craig Spearman (76 off just 41 balls) and Jonty Rhodes (87 off 73).

Gloucester's James Averis then sliced through Buckinghamshire's batting with 6-23 off seven overs.

Paul Sawyer top-scored for Bucks with 26 but skipper Paul Atkins (19) was the only other player to score in double figures as they capitulated inside 26 overs.

Gloucestershire: C M Spearman (Capt), W P C Weston, T H C Hancock, M G N Windows, J N Rhodes, A P R Gidman, R C Russell (Wkt), M A Hardinges, J Lewis, J M M Averis, A M Smith.
