Glamorgan have signed all-rounder David Brown on a two-year deal following his release from Gloucestershire. The 26-year-old spent three years at Nevil Road but did not play a first-class game in 2009. His record boasts a Championship-best 83, and he hit 56 against Glamorgan in this year's Twenty20 Cup match. "David is a talented young player who has made some impressive contributions against Glamorgan and other counties," said cricket manager Matthew Maynard. "I'm delighted that he has agreed terms with us for 2010 and 2011 and I'm really looking forward to working with David and helping him to reach his full potential." Brown, who signed for Gloucestershire in 2006 after impressing in the Second XI, has career-best figures of 5 for 38, which came against Derbyshire. "I'm really looking forward to the new challenge at Glamorgan," said Brown. "I'm impressed by the club's ambition and I'm confident I can help them achieve it. "There is a great combination of young and older talent in the dressing room and I can't wait to be part of it."
