Jamie Dalrymple and Matthew Wood are set to make their first-class debuts for Glamorgan in their three-day friendly against Oxford University.

Seam bowler David Harrison will also return to first-class action after 18 months out with a back injury.

Mike Powell continues his comeback after life-threatening complications from a blood clot in his arm last year.

The Welsh county have named the same 12 which played recently at Somerset for Wednesday's away game at The Parks.

Off-spinner and lower middle order batsman Dalrymple joined Glamorgan on a three-year deal from Middlesex this year and used to skipper Oxford University.

The 26-year-old said he was looking forward to the upcoming season and the new challenge presented by Glamorgan.

"The key is for us to get back to winning ways, start getting some good virtuous habits in and get into a virtuous cycle rather than a downward cycle," said Dalrymple.

"And make the most of this fantastic new facility we've got and harness all the positivity that's flowing around now and take it through the season with us.

"If you do the right things in this game you suddenly find that everything turns round for you and hopefully we'll get our reward so I would hope we'll get our reward."

Batsman Wood, 30, was the county's first close-season recruit this season after agreeing a two-year deal late last year joining from Yorkshire.

Abergavenny-born Powell last played for Glamorgan against Essex in June 2007 but recently returned to action in two pre-season friendlies at Sussex, making 37 and 0 in the two losses.

Newport-born Harrison last appeared against Gloucestershire in September 2006 before playing in the same series of games.
