Sophia Gardens
Sophia Gardens is undergoing a 9.5m redevelopment
Glamorgan chief executive Mike Fatkin was pleased to secure the England v South Africa day-night one-day international for 3 September, 2008.

The match at Cardiff's redeveloped Sophia Gardens will be the final fixture of the five-match series.

"We're delighted, this will be the first major international match played at our new stadium which will be completed by April 2008," he said.

"International cricket receives a great reception in Cardiff."

The ground is currently undergoing a 9.5m redevelopment that will see capacity increased from 5,500 to 15,643.

The club will host an Ashes Test between England and Australia in 2009.
