Harmison impresses Sobers
S Harmison
Harmison is rated the best paceman in world cricket at present
Cricket legend Sir Garfield Sobers believes Durham and England bowler Steve Harmison could become one of England's greatest ever players.

Harmison, who took four wickets in each innings of England's Test win at Lord's has impressed the famous West Indian.

Sir Garfield said: "He seems to have that ability to get the bounce, he seems to move the ball, he seems to be able to bowl good length and good line.

"He could be one the one of the best England has produced for a long time."

The former all-rounder was in the north east to host a dinner to raise money for cerebal palsy sufferers and Durham's cricket academy.

Speaking at the Riverside ground, he told BBC Radio Newcastle, "He bowled extremely well in the West Indies and did all that was asked of him.

"He came back here, played against New Zealand and continued from where he left off in the Caribbean."
