Jefferson gives Leicestershire the edge over Glamorgan

LV= COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP, DIVISION TWO, Grace Road:
Close, day three: Leicestershire 238 & 245, Glamorgan 146 & 112-3
Leics 4pts, Glam 3pts
Match scorecard

Opener Will Jefferson hit a century to give Leicestershire the edge over Glamorgan on day three at Grace Road.

Jefferson hit 13 fours in his 112, assisted by 67 from Jigar Naik as the home side recovered from 78-5 to reach 245 all out in their second innings.

Spinner Dean Cosker took 4-50 and seamer Graham Wagg 3-59 to leave Glamorgan needing 338 for victory.

The visitors closed on 112-3, still requiring another 226 to win, with William Bragg out late on for 43.

BBC Wales cricket correspondent Edward Bevan:
"Glamorgan's remaining batsmen will have to bat well and show more application than they did in the first innings, if they are to reach a substantial target of 338.

"After losing their openers in successive overs at 43, Will Bragg and Michael Powell both played watchfully to put on 64, before Bragg was out in the penultimate over of the day for 43.

"16 wickets fell on the second day and questions have been asked of the pitch, but there's been no problem in that respect, just indifferent batting, apart from a couple of players on either side."
