CLYDESDALE BANK 40, New Road: Lancashire 211-1 beat Worcestershire 208-8 by nine wickets (Lancashire 2 pts)
Match scorecard
Moore has now hit two hundreds in five Clydesdale Bank 40 games for Lancs
|
Worcestershire old boy Stephen Moore hit an unbeaten ton on his first return to New Road as Lancashire pulled off a nine-wicket Clydesdale Bank 40 win. Captain Vikram Solanki (45) and James Cameron (41) helped Worcestershire set a reasonable target of 208-8. But, after losing Tom Smith cheaply, Moore (105no) and Paul Horton (78no) made short work of it as Lancashire won easily with 33 balls to spare on 211-1. The pair put on 191 in an impressive unbroken second-wicket partnership. That was comfortably Lancashire's best stand against Worcestershire in any form of one-day cricket - to help earn Peter Moores' men only their second win in five matches in the Clydesdale Bank 40. Worcestershire remain winless after four games in this summer's newly refurbished 40-over competition.
