Australian Stuart Law hit 95 as Derbyshire hung on to record a high-scoring 21-run Friends Provident Trophy win over Northants at Wantage Road.

Law was backed up by 57 from Wavell Hinds and captain Chris Rogers' 42 as the visitors piled up 286-9.

Northants were always behind the clock in the run chase, slumping to 122-5.

But despite youngster Mark Nelson (74) marshalling a spirited response, the home side were dismissed for 265 with four balls remaining.
