NatWest Pro40 D2, Grace Road: Leicestershire 183-8 bt Derbyshire 177 by six runs
Sam Cliff claimed career-best bowling figures as a youthful Leicestershire side beat Derbyshire by six runs with an over to spare in their Pro40 clash.
The seamer, 20, took 4-26 as the Phantoms were dismissed for 177 after Leicestershire had posted 183-9.
Teenager James Taylor top scored for the Foxes with 43no, striking two fours and two sixes in his 42-ball stay.
Derbyshire came close to snatching a win, with Chris Rogers making 61, but Cliff (4-26) ensured they fell short.
Tom New, on loan at Derbyshire from Leicestershire, also did well - scoring an unbeaten 36 with the bat and taking three catches behind the stumps - but it was not enough.
The win - Leicestershire's first of the Pro40 campaign - sees the Foxes leapfrog Derbyshire in the table but leaves both sides still in the bottom three.
