COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP Division Two, Edgbaston (day four): Northants 407-8 dec drew with Warwickshire 353-4
Warwickshire (10pts), Northamptonshire (10pts)
Jim Troughton scored his first Championship century of the season as Warwickshire's rain-affected match against Northants ended in a draw.
With no play possible on Saturday because of rain, Warwickshire resumed their first innings on 120-3.
Troughton and Jonathan Trott (66) put on a further 112, before Tony Frost (42 not out) added to the run scoring.
Warwickshire ended the match on 353-4, with Troughton unbeaten on 137, featuring 18 boundaries and a six.
The left-hander was given a reprieve on 15 in the first over of the morning at Edgbaston when Rob White grassed a sharp chance at second slip off David Lucas.
And Troughton made the visitors pay with an assured innings as promotion-chasing Warwickshire earned three extra batting points.
It means Darren Maddy's side are now 17 points behind Division Two leaders Worcestershire and six ahead of Northants.
