Rain shortens day one at Bristol

Only 24 overs were possible on day one of Gloucestershire's division two match against Glamorgan because of heavy rain, as the hosts ended play on 56-2.

The poor weather delayed play until 1125 BST and, after a brief shower, the rain returned to end play after lunch.

In the short spell of dry weather, Jon Lewis and Steve Kirby each bagged a wicket during miserly opening spells.

Gareth Rees and Matthew Wood were those to fall, before Mike Powell and David Hemp (both 23 not out) led a revival.
