County Championship D2, Trent Bridge, day three: Nottinghamshire 475 beat Glamorgan 262 & 205 by an innings and eight runs
Points: Notts 22, Glam 5
Charlie Shreck produced a blistering spell as Nottinghamshire beat Glamorgan by an innings and eight runs in County Championship Division Two on Friday.
With their third win in as many matches, Notts are back in the ascendancy after relegation in 2006.
Shreck, having taken both wickets in Glamorgan's overnight 20-2, took the next four to set up the prospect of a first county 10-for since 1994.
But when Ryan Watkins drove to cover, Shreck's hopes were dashed.
The one encouraging aspect for Glamorgan was an unbeaten 66 from the 19-year-old newcomer Ben Wright which almost prevented an innings defeat.
The visitors were finally bowled out for 205 when Huw Waters was run out.
Shreck, the 29-year-old Cornishman who stands at 6ft 7in, was the story of the day.
He had not been at his best in April, and was wicketless in the first innings of this match.
But swing was on offer at Trent Bridge, and he made full use of it.
