County Championship D2, Bristol, day two (close): Gloucestershire 459 v Surrey 287-9
Gloucestershire seamer James Averis hit the first half-century of his career and took three wickets as his team dominated against Surrey on day two.
Averis' 53 took the hosts from an overnight 385-7 to 459 all out, and Division Two champs Surrey were then reduced to 287-9 in 85 overs.
Predictably, Mark Ramprakash and Mark Butcher hit half-centuries but others struggled to impose themselves.
Seamer Steve Kirby and spinner Vikram Banerjee each took two wickets.
