County Championship Division Two, Colwyn Bay (stumps, day three): Glamorgan 340 v Worcestershire 460 & 382-5 dec
Promotion hopefuls Worcestershire set Glamorgan a massive 503 to win in their Division Two clash at Colwyn Bay.
They bowled Glamorgan out for 340 in their first innings, an overall lead of 120, and then made 382-5 declared second time around on day three.
When bad light stopped play Glamorgan had reached eight without loss after four balls from Zaheer Khan.
All Worcestershire's top order cashed in to create a great opportunity for their fifth win in six outings.
Openers Phil Jaques (92) and Steve Moore (82) put on 168 for the first wicket in 41 overs, three shy of their season's best first-wicket stand.
Jaques looked set for his fourth championship ton of the season but having smashed a window of the Colwyn Bay Cricket Club pavilion with a six off Robert Croft, he fell eight runs short when the Glamorgan captain had him caught at deep backward square.
Vikram Solanki (36) was run out for the second time in the match when Mark Cosgrove fielded the ball off his own bowling and out of the back of his hand threw down the stumps with Solanki out of his crease.
But Ben Smith (72no) and Steven Davies (77) added 135 for the fourth wicket in 22 overs before Solanki's conservative declaration.
Earlier, Glamorgan missed a fourth batting point by 10 runs when their final pair added 11 runs to their overnight 329-9.
