County Championship Division Two, Colwyn Bay (stumps, day one): Glamorgan v Worcestershire 377-9
Daryl Mitchell and Roger Sillence put Worcestershire in charge on the opening day against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay.
Phil Jaques, skipper Vikram Solanki and Ben Smith all got starts but they fell to 256-6 at tea on an easy-paced pitch.
But Mitchell responded with a career-best 87 not out and Sillence an entertaining 63 as the duo put on 95.
Seamers Dave Harrison and James Franklin, and spinner Robert Croft all took two wickets but the visitors closed in a good position on 377-9.
Harrison was impressive in his first spell and Croft took a wicket with his first ball of the match but from 148-5 things went Worcestershire's way.
Gareth Batty and Mitchell put on 75 in 23 overs until Batty got a top edge from his attempted cut and was well caught at first slip.
