Twenty20 splits former champions

Former winners Leicestershire and Surrey have been kept apart in the semi-finals of the Twenty20 Cup.

The Foxes will face Essex at 1130 BST on finals day at Trent Bridge on 12 August, while the Brown Caps will take on Nottinghamshire Outlaws at 1500.

The four teams all secured their places in the hat after wins on Monday.

Surrey, who won the first Twenty20 Cup final at the Nottingham venue in 2003, are the favourites this time, but there is no obvious outsider.

Each of the four counties appearing in the semi-finals has an allocation of 1,600 seats to distribute to fans.

Host club Notts says the rest of the 15,350-capacity Test ground has already been sold out for months.
