Twenty20 Cup quarter-final, Grace Road: Leicestershire 156-1 (18 ovs) bt Kent 153-5 (20 ovs) by 9 wkts
Leicestershire maintained their record of reaching every Twenty20 finals day with an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Kent at a sun-baked Grace Road.
Young paceman Stuart Broad, aided by some impressive catches, destroyed Kent with a spell of 3-13 from four overs.
It needed martin van Jaarsveld's commanding 75 from 46 balls to give Kent a chance with 153-5.
But Darren Maddy hit some audacious reverse sweeps in his eighth fifty in Twenty20, to guide his team to victory.
Kent skipper Rob Key, who edged the third ball of the match from Broad to the keeper for a duck, was full of praise for the tall quick bowler.
"He's a real find, the best young bowler I've seen in county cricket," Key said. "He's got a bit of presence and I'm sure it won't be long before we see him playing for England."
South African Tyron Henderson was a key wicket for the Foxes to take.
Having just hit a flat six straight down the ground, he was run out by a direct hit from David Masters.
HD Ackerman cut successive fours as the Foxes raced to 50 in the seventh over of their reply, and with wickets in hand they were always in command.
Maddy, who reverse hooked West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for four, finished the match in style with three successive fours off Amjad Khan.
