C&G Trophy, The Oval: Somerset 279-5 (50 overs) bt Surrey 253 (48.5 overs) by 26 runs
Arul Suppiah produced a fine all-round display to help Somerset beat Surrey by 26 runs in the C&G Trophy at The Oval.
Suppiah stroked a patient 63 and put on exactly 100 with Matthew Wood, who hit 92, as the visitors totalled 279-5.
Surrey looked to be in little trouble when they eased to 212-4 but Suppiah (4-39) triggered a collapse which saw the last six wickets fall for 41 runs.
Nayan Doshi was run out with 13 balls left to hand Somerset their second victory in the South Division.
It was Suppiah's first appearance of the season and he made a strong case for a regular place in the side.
"We kept wickets in hand and looked to score off the last 10 overs, which we did pretty well, and our bowlers bowled to a plan," the 22-year-old explained.
"A score of around 280 was very good on a sticky wicket which was quite difficult if you took the pace off the ball.
"My batting didn't feel good to begin with with but I stuck around and got some momentum and then I bowled to a plan, which was to bowl full.
"I was really pleased with it. All I can do is take my opportunities and hopefully I can carry it on."
