C&G Trophy, Uxbridge: Middlesex 254 (49.4 overs) bt Hampshire 241 (49.1 overs) by 13 runs
Shane Warne and Kevin Pietersen could not prevent holders Hampshire from slumping to their first defeat in this year's C&G Trophy against Middlesex.
Warne took 4-48 in the hosts' 254 which was underpinned by a blistering 88 off only 64 deliveries from Ed Smith.
Hants were five down for 103, including number three Warne, before Pietersen hammered two sixes in his 43.
But despite Michael Carberry (52) and Shaun Udal's three sixes in his 32, they were out for 241 in the last over.
It was Middlesex's first win in any competition this season and they were indebted to Smith, who also pulled off a superb catch at backward point to get rid of Carberry.
The rest of the top order struggled but Ed Joyce (43), Ben Hutton (38) and Ben Scott (33 not out) to get Middlesex up to a respectable total.
The visitors were in all sorts of trouble but Pietersen clubbed them out of it until he missed a ball down the leg-side from Melvyn betts, toppled over slightly and was smartly stumped by Scott.
Udal also delivered some mighty blows but he was last man out, bowled by Chad Keegan.
